Lori and Dorsee have been doing some research on location for next year. The best deal still seems to be at Copper Fields. The dates we have set for next year:

Right now we have 2 day meetings still set for November and February. I motion that we keep the meetings on Fridays only, especially for February (I don't think we'll have great turnout on Saturday Valentine's Day.)
Do we want to have any kind of extended (2-day) meeting for next year? I think with our constituents, they would probably prefer a 1 day format.
When do we want to have executive/conference committe meetings next year? For those about to be elected to new offices, in the past we met the day before on some of the meetings (this year it was just on the Friday before the Saturday general meeting in November, with Loung Ung) with the costs for lodging for the night for exec comm members subsidized by IBARMS. This gave us the extended time we needed to discuss issues as a board, but obviously required more of a time commitment for board members.
For other meetings, we just met during the morning on the days we had IBARMS meetings (from 8-11, with general meetings starting at 11:30.) This was more condensed for board member time commitment, but we often didn't have time to fully discuss important issues.
I think we need at least 2 meetings this year for the executive board that will be fairly sustained (at least 3 hours.) The first should probably be some time in September before the 1st scheduled meeting. I think the new board members should have input on when those meetings will be.

It appears that there are schools who cannot participate on Saturdays. It is a shame because I feel the speakers we have had have been very good. However, speakers also cost us MONEY. As far as executive committee meetings and conference committee meetings the time slot before lunch is not enough time to accomplish both tasks. Is this process works for discussion of executive committee items then we could just have conference committee meetings in the morning of the general meeting. I know all of us feel pressure to be gone from school but we also need to conduct business in the best possible manner. Let's see what the new members think as well about meetings. Dorsee
The meeting dates work for me. I agree that February should only be one day or move off of the Valentine's weekend.
