3rd item: other issues for April 18 meeting

These are mostly informational:
  • Carrie Bennett from Bridge Volunteers will be doing a brief presentation next Friday as per Patricia's suggestion. More info on this can be found at www.bridgevolunteers.org.
  • Don Marsh may have some information on a potential guest speaker for us for next year. For more information on the filmmaker, check out www.thelisteningproject.com.
  • The scholarship committee has made its selections of 5 worthy students, and we will distribute letters (and maybe checks) to their respective coordinators on April 18.
  • We need to ratify the amended bylaws changes and hold official elections for new members. I have not received any late nominations, so I believe all of those who stood last time will be running unopposed.
  • Let me know if any of you have any other agenda items for next Friday's general meeting.

Roger, I've just forwarded you the draft agenda, which includes these items and others.

It bothers me that only a couple of us have responded to this blog and the deadline is fast approaching. If we are going to be more efficient with communication then people---all who received, the current and the soon to be elected Exec Committee members need to respond.

I don't know if the general meeting is the appropriate place, or if it should be conducted within breakout sessions, but it would be nice to solicit symposium topics once again. Thus far, the English A, World Lang. and MYP Tech sessions have been well-received and seem to be addressing the needs of the constituents in a way that workshops and/or roundtables are not. I know we did this a while back (asked for suggestions); should we revisit the previous suggestions or ask for new ones?

I'm just back from spring break and computer training. Never done this before so hope I'm doing it correctly.
General agenda items sound important. I'm wondering if the students are going to be available for the presentations or are coordinators going to present to them at awards ceremonies?
